Sebastian Horn is the new manager of operations for north-east Germany at LFPI Hotels Management Deutschland GmbH. He is initially remaining as the hotel manager of the ibis Styles Hamburg Alster City. Mr Horn has already taken on strategic responsibility for LFPI hotels in northern Germany, and is set to do so for those in the east of the country over the course of the year. Together with Reinier Franssen and Katja Schnabel, the 41-year-old trained hotel administrator will in future be in charge of operating and strategic matters at LFPI Hotels.
"In the light of our expansion and the additional strategic tasks growth involved in terms of operations, we have adapted our structure at headquarters to meet the wide range of challenges now facing us", explains company director Philipp Bessler. "Sebastian Horn has worked for us for many years and proven his expertise in a variety of roles; he was an obvious choice for this responsible position."
Sebastian Horn has worked for a number of companies all over Germany including the Accor hotel group. Born in Bielefeld, he began his career with vocational training at the Mercure Hotel Hanover City. He joined LFPI Hotels Management Deutschland GmbH in 2012 and has worked in a range of areas with us. He has focused in particular on the acquisition and integration of new hotels into the Group, human resources and latterly the digitisation of the company.
"In the past, the hotel industry was a pioneer of innovation and new technology", says Sebastian Horn. "We need to regain this edge and address the current and future issues and trends that are changing our lives."
"The COVID pandemic will doubtless continue to pose new challenges and shape our activities for some time to come. As we have weathered the crisis well so far, we must continue on that path", he argues.
"We will gradually undertake further refurbishment of our hotels and launch fresh solutions on the market in all areas." Another focus for the new manager of operations will be the hotel teams, which he sees as the company's most important asset. "To me, valuing our workforce means that we promote the development of each individual at their own pace, and foster talent within our own organisation."
