An innovative way to recruit new staff

LFPI Hotels Management GmbH is taking an innovative, pioneering route to recruitment: the hotel operators are using a modern image film to reach out to potential candidates who can identify with the concept and culture of the Group.

At the centre of the film, which is being posted on a range of social media channels, is the workforce. The team are the people who are enthused about the hotel trade, working with guests, their various roles and above all LFPI as an employer. Each individual shares that passion in the video – in their own words and in their daily work. The video features staff from a range of areas, hierarchies and sites. "In this project, we were focused from the outset both on presenting our company as authentically as possible and on giving viewers a taste for work at a hotel", says LFPI director Philipp Bessler. The video was produced by the agency opensmile, working with great creative freedom to just a few set requirements.

Following the recent acquisition of Bielefelder Hof last month, the LFPI Group now operates 13 hotels in Germany and employs a workforce of around 320. The Group is on a clear growth trajectory. More than 20 positions are currently being advertised at all levels and across all sites, including vacancies at the head office in Cologne. The company expects to increase its workforce to more than 400 in the near future. "Our goal as an employer is to look for solutions that are not yet standard hotel industry practice. We also want to prove that it's not just major global corporate groups that are able to offer their staff an attractive hotel workplace", explains Sebastian Horn, who is responsible for employer branding in his role as cluster hotel manager. The benefits range from electronic timekeeping and rosters to health vouchers, a staff shopping portal and attractive staff prices at the Group's hotels. Philipp Bessler adds that the "concept is proving its worth. We have seen our profile as an employer grow and will continue to work on developing new ideas. We want to recruit staff who love working with and for people: that is what defines the hotel industry."
